Card of the Day: Wheel of Fortune
Always a mystery, what fortunate lies ahead:
The Tarot Schools newsletter came today, and had a piece on the Wheel.
by James Wanless, Ph.D.
http://www.voyagertarot.com/
The Wheel of Fortune represents the "Fortune Principle"
for living a Fortune Life. This universal law tells us
to be Open to everything and everyone who comes our
way, and with a Positive Mind, see it all as Opportunity,
even the "bad stuff."
The Fortune mind turns and spins everything into a
resource and energy. The Fortune principle means that
even the things we don't want to happen are fertilizer
for growth that we can and should compost into renewed
abundance!
So, take a chance on life, this is your "lucky day"
because it's all a gift! Have this Fortune principle
attitude and way of life and strike gold! Remember, it
takes gold to make gold. Think in this way and good
things will happen. Expect it.
WHEEL OF FORTUNE
Astrological Attribution: Jupitar
Hebrew Letter Attribution: Caph
Meaning: Fist
Esoteric Title: Lord of the Forces of Life
Trump X, the Wheel of Fortune features a central
clocklike wheel divided into eight spokes. The wheel
floats among the Holy Living Creatures placed at each
corner of the card, seated upon clouds and holding
sacred texts. The outer ring of the wheel contains the
letter TORA alternating with the letters of the Holy
Name in Hebrew JHVH.
Four of the spokes are given symbols corresponding to
Mercury, Sulphur, Salt and Aquarius. These are the
symbolic substances in alchemy. These represent not
only chemicals, but both invisible and spiritual
principles of man and the Divine. The inner and outer
wheel ciphers contain pictograms with opposing energies
that cause the Wheel to spin.
The lion, bull, eagle and man are the Holy Living
Creatures referenced in Ezekiel's vision. These
creatures are the symbols of the four evangelists
Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. The letters form four
distinct words- TARO (tarot)- ROTA (wheel) - TORA
(law) - ATOR (nature).
The Wheel of Fortune is called the Intelligence of
Conciliation. Its function describes it acting as an
intermediary between moving opposites. This is the
movement and fluctuation often associated with this
card.
Orbiting the wheel are a snake, a jackal-headed being
and a sphinx. These are associated with Typhon,
Hermanubis and the Sphinx of Egypt. They represent
different revolving energies.
In a reading, the Wheel of Fortune often speaks of the
ups and downs of life. You may see ongoing changes or
notice patterns, like the change of the seasons. The
more traditional meaning for this card is luck, fortune
and fate.
Positive Keywords: Fortune, success, change, luck,
destiny, winning, progress, increase, timing, cycle,
adaptation, abundance, good news, and expansion.
Negative Keywords: Reverses, failures, opposition,
delays, risk, bad luck, lack, low energy, hesitation,
blockages and repetition.
Tarot Affirmation: The wheels of change are in tune
with the Universe's perfect cycle that revitalizes me,
allowing harmonious progress.

Today I pulled the Thoth "Prince of Swords." This image is part of the Elfworld and Laura J. Bayless's creative card. It is a strong image.
