Card of the Day: The Hierophant
St. Sixtus II, Sandro Botticelli, 1481 Fresco, 210 x 80 cm,Cappella Sistina, Vatican
The card of the day was selected from the Storyteller Tarot, a majors only deck, created by Diane Wilkes and Arnell Ando. The deck is long out of print, but I was fortunate enough to get the book with images several years ago from Diane.

Hollywood goes Tarot
I found this site, Hollywood Tarot, on more than one occasion, but today I took the time to look at it, and read the home page.
Having, myself, used film or movie archetypes to exemplify a tarot card, I found it fascinating to see an entire deck associated with Hollywood, or Movie-land, stretching back 60 or more years.

Card of the Day: The Fool
Today I plucked off my tarot shelf, the Tarot of the Origins. I remember buying these and the excitement I felt at the images-primal, electrifying and energetic.

Card of the Day: 8 of Blades, Eight of Swords
Today, I reached out to my collection of tarot, and pulled a card from the Daughters of the Moon." Coincidentally, I had just earlier been reading a short blog note by James Wells on this very deck where he suggests more women work together to develop decks. A mighty good suggestion!

Card of the Day: Wave Awakening, Knight of Cups
I spontaneously pulled a card from the Songs for the Journey Home--a deck I rarely use but love.
Wave Awakening closely resembles the Knight of Cups.

Contemplating Images II
I am quietly, lame and in pain, determined to find the way to develop three tarot cards for the museum project.
I keep thinking of doing minors, those cards infrequently portrayed beyond pips or focus on the Courts, to which I am heavily drawn.
I look at art, cards others have done, and published decks seeking my own vision while retaining the symbology of the Waites--a condition for entries.
Transformational Tarot, Diane Wilkes
Diane's "time passage" review of Transformational Tarot, Arnell Ando's collage deck at her Tarot Passages site evoked my own memories.
A glance back in time took me to an ATA conference in Albany where I met Diane, and where Diane graciously shared her deck with me to do several exercises.
I think it was that following summer that I was in Belfast (ME) and discovered, much to my astonishment, my own deck, encased in its original wrapping, never touched, slightly dusty from shelf wear, and for sale at its original selling price.
Owning the deck, and acquiring an original Heroes Journey for my birthday set me along a tarot path I had not ventured on until then, and which has ebbed and flowed since.
The US Games edition of Transformational Tarot can now be purchased at Arnell's site.
