Rider Waite, 2 of Swords

In 1995, in the midst of a forest, awake but dreaming, I would pull the Two of Swords daily.

At my elbow was Christine reading, and Georgina watching.

Living a communal life we were all attuned and oft in tune with each other, and Christine and I, more than others, were in kinship.

Now I am awake, in farmland, searching on the horizon for the messages of repeated Wands, and stray but persistent Pentacles (Coins).

Messages of balance appear frequently and in the end, are they different than the 2 of Swords.
